NHL Playoffs The Detroit Red Wings picked up a much needed win over Tampa Bay, blanking the Lightning 2-0 in game 3 of their first round series. St. Louis beat Chicago 3-2 to take a 2-1 series lead over the Blackhawks. Nashville has a 2-0 series lead over Anaheim after a 3-2 win Sunday. Thomas Hickey scored the overtime winner as the Islanders beat Florida 4-3.

NBA Playoffs Cleveland, San Antonio, Miami and the LA Clippers all opened the NBA playoffs with victories. The Cavs held on to beat Detroit 106-101. Toronto dropped the series opener against Indiana, they can even that series tonight.

IIHF Jakob Chychrun and Jordan Kyrou were both held off the scoresheet as Canada won its second game at the Under 18 World Hockey Championship. Canada can build on their 2-0 record tonight when they play Slovakia.

OHL Playoffs The OHL Conference Finals are set. Erie finished off Sault Ste. Marie in five games and now face London. Niagara and Barrie get their series underway Thursday, both coming off second round sweeps.

GOJHL Petrolia native Brendan Trottier assisted on the winner in double overtime as London edged Stratford 5-4 to tie their Sutherland Cup semi final series 1-1. In the other semifinal, Sarnia native Corey Pawley had three assists as Caledonia took a 3-0 series lead over Waterloo. Caledonia has yet to lose this post season.

Jr B Lacrosse Point Edward Jr. B Pacers dropped their season opener in Hagersville Sunday by a score of 16-3 against the Six Nations Rebels. They head to Elora Saturday to play the Mohawks, they host Hamilton Sunday in their home opener.
