Justin Fazio turns aside 25 shots to lead Sarnia over Sault Ste. Marie 5-1 Sunday afternoon.
Jordan Kyrou and Brandon Lindberg scored first period goals to give Sarnia a 2-0 advantage through 20 minutes.
Troy Lajeunesse notched his 10th of the season in the second period's opening minute to extend Sarnia's lead.
That 3-0 score would stand through 40 minutes until it was Sault Ste Marie's turn to score a quick goal to begin a period. They broke Justin Fazio's shutout bid 49 seconds into the final frame. That is as close as the Greyhounds would get as Pavel Zacha and Noah Bushnell scored insurance markers.
Sarnia picked up five of a possible six points this weekend, and have recorded at least a point in their last nine games.
Sarnia is home to Oshawa Friday where former Sting Alexandre Renaud will make his first return to Sarnia since being traded in early October. The Sting hit the road Saturday with a game in Hamilton and finish the weekend with a rematch against the Generals in Oshawa Sunday.
The win improves Sarnia's record to 21-11-5-1.
