Sarnia Native Joins Sting Broadcasts

Blackburn Radio is pleased to announce that Sarnia native and veteran broadcaster Leigh Cunningham has joined the CHOK-Sarnia Sting broadcast team. He will assume the role of play-by-play man, alongside colour commentator Patrick DesRochers.

Cunningham's OHL broadcasting career began in 1998, doing play-by-play for the London Knights. Most recently Cunningham was with the Saginaw Spirit Organization as the club's Director of Broadcasting and Communications.

He has broadcast over 1,000 OHL games, including four championship series, four conference finals and the OHL All-Star Classic.

Cunningham says he was fortunate to be able to celebrate that milestone in his hometown.

Cunningham also broadcast the first OHL outdoor game at Comerica Park in 2013.

CHOK Radio has been the voice of the Sarnia Sting since the team's arrival in 1994-95. The first regular season broadcast for the 2015-16 season is September 25.
