City specifies dos, don'ts for trail users

The City of Sarnia is asking community members to practice good trail etiquette and to be mindful of others.

The reminder was issued on Tuesday for anyone who uses Sarnia's trails, including joggers, cyclists, pet owners, and e-bike enthusiasts.

“Our trails are a great asset to the community that bring people together and encourage healthy and active lifestyles,” said Manager of Development and

Transportation Alister Brown. “Part of trail use is shared responsibility and respect so that everyone can stay safe and enjoy their time outside.”

While e-bikes are allowed on city trails and paths, riders are asked to travel at a safe speed, yield appropriately, and pass with care.

A list of simple practices can be found below. Further details can be found on the city's website.
