Sarnia-Lambton Crime Stoppers seeking tips after man beaten with golf club

Sarnia-Lambton Crime Stoppers is asking for help to identify a suspect following a violent assault earlier this week.

Sarnia police were called to Confederation Street near Murphy Road just after 3 p.m. Tuesday.

According to Crime Stoppers, officers responded to reports of an unknown male repeatedly striking another male with a golf club.

Police were advised the victim was on the ground, attempting to shield himself from the blows, and appeared to be bleeding from his arm.

Crime Stoppers said the suspect fled the area and was last seen traveling eastbound on Confederation Street.

The male is described as wearing a red bandana and a red shirt.

Crime Stoppers said the weapon (golf club) was not recovered and the suspect was not known to the victim.

The current condition of the victim was not shared.
