Paint Ontario art show continues in Grand Bend with 'Skool of Rock' and Mother’s Day events

The annual Paint Ontario Art Competition, Exhibition and Sale continues in Grand Bend.

It's being held at the Legion Hall on Municipal Drive until May 17.

This weekend from noon to 4 p.m., on both Saturday and Sunday, a 'Skool of Rock!' outdoor jam studio is planned.

It's being run by the Backroad Collective, which partners with the Grand Bend Art Centre to offer summer camp and school year programs for kids and youth throughout the region.

Children will be invited to dress in costumes, have their face painted, get temporary tattoos and make their own band merchandise (buttons & posters).

Kristyn Watterworth and Ed Platero will also speak about digital painting.

A few extra events have been added on Sunday for Mother's Day, including a magic show and a tattoo demonstration, using practice skin.

Events highlighting Mexican culture are planned next weekend, May 15 to 17.

International student demonstrations showcasing music, dance and visual art are planned in the main gallery and on the grounds.

The calendar of events can be viewed here.

Paint Ontario is organized each year by the Grand Bend Art Centre, a registered not-for-profit community group. The event provides a unique opportunity for emerging artists to showcase their work and an unmatched opportunity for buyers to view and acquire it.
