After yet another crash at an intersection in St. Clair Township heading into the weekend, Jeff Agar is once again asking for safety measures to be installed.
Just before 4:30 p.m. Friday, emergency crews responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Petrolia Line and Kimball Road.
Three people were injured, including an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer, prompting the Special Investigations Unit (SIU) to invoke its mandate.
Mayor Agar during Lambton County's Committee of the Whole meeting Wednesday, asked what is being done to improve the intersection.
"I myself am getting very, very tired of looking at this all the time," said Agar. "There's got to be something, have you come back with anything with lights yet? Or, if you have to, put a friggin' speed bump close to the corner, because that car went right through. Didn't even let on he seen a stop sign."
Infrastructure and Development Services General Manager Jason Cole told the council members improvements are happening soon.
"After council's discussion at budget, we took the steps to obtain flashers for the tops of the stop signs," said Cole. "We have them in hand and they will be installed imminently."
During 2026 budget talks earlier this month, Lambton County Council agreed to include design work for a roundabout at Petrolia Line and Kimball Road with construction scheduled to begin next year.
Agar said he welcomes anything that can help make the intersection safer.
"The sooner the better," he said. "Like I said, it's just amazing what's going on at that corner I don't understand it. This time I seen it, it just went straight through, not even attempting to stop, so they didn't even see the stop sign."
