CBSA officers seize methamphetamine at BWB

Officers with the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) have prevented more drugs from hitting the streets.

On February 4, a commercial truck coming into Canada at the Blue Water Bridge (BWB) was referred for a secondary examination.

An inspection of the trailer by border services officers and the detector dog allegedly turned up 16 duffle bags of suspected methamphetamine, weighing 266.4 kilograms.

Kulbir Singh, 29, of Woodstock, Ontario, was arrested and transferred into the custody of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP).

He's facing importation and possession for the purpose of trafficking charges under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

The accused has a future court appearance in Sarnia.

The CBSA said the charges are subject to validation by the court and the investigation is ongoing.

Since January 1, 2025, the CBSA in southern Ontario has seized 616.5 kg of methamphetamine coming from the United States.
