A London man has been arrested and charged following what police are calling a "multi-million dollar drug seizure."
According to Lambton County OPP, on December 23 just before 1:30 p.m., a Ministry of Transportation vehicle inspection prompted Lambton OPP, the Lambton County Community Street Crime Unit and the Border Enforcement Security Task Force, to respond to the MTO scales located off Highway 402 in the Township of Plympton-Wyoming.
Police say they seized 137 kg of suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of $4,110,000, a quantity of Canadian and U.S. currency and other offence-related items.
A 43-year-old London resident is now charged with possession for the purposes of trafficking and import schedule 1 substance.
The accused has been remanded into custody pending a bail hearing.
