A repeat offender has been arrested after an indecent act.
Early Sunday morning, Sarnia police responded to Confederation Street after reports of a man dressed in all black masturbating on a mattress near the dumpsters of a townhouse complex.
Officers located the man while he was still committing the indecent act. The man attempted to walk away, but he was arrested.
According to the police, the suspect struggled and attempted to free himself, but the officers were able to place him in handcuffs.
Officers spoke to witnesses of the crime, one who saw him staring into her window before he jumped a fence to make his way over to the dumpster, as well as a witness who saw the suspect lying on the mattress with his genitals exposed while he masturbated.
At the time of the incident, the suspect was bound by five probation orders and each contained the condition to keep the peace and be on good behaviour.
As a result, a 26-year-old man of no fixed address was charged with Indecent Act, trespassing, resisting an officer, and failure to comply with his probation.
In the last year, he has had 11 arrests and 37 charges, five of which were for indecent acts.
He was held for bail and remains in custody.
