County, Clean Harbors host HHW collection event

Lambton County residents decluttering their homes ahead of the fall season can drop off household hazardous waste, free of charge, this weekend.

The collection event will be held at the Clean Harbors Canada Inc. site in St. Clair Township on Saturday, September 20, from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Items such as batteries, drain cleaners, pesticides, pool chemicals, aerosols, paints, and propane cylinders will be accepted.

More details about what will and will not be accepted can be found on the county's website.

Clean Harbors is located at 4090 Telfer Rd.

The last Household Hazardous Waste Collection mobile event of 2025 will be held on October 4 at the Public Works Depot on Townsend Line in Lambton Shores.

The last collection event of the year will be held on October 25 at the Clean Harbours site.

Youth volunteers practice coastal conservation

Nine young volunteers aged 11 to 17 spent three days exploring and protecting the Lake Huron coastline during the Coastal Conservation Youth Corps' inaugural program in Grand Bend from July 21 to 23.
