Here’s a list of what’s open and closed on the Civic Holiday Monday, August 4, or Alexander Mackenzie Day in Sarnia:

-Post Office: Closed. No mail delivery

-Sarnia Transit: No buses operating

-Banks & Trust Companies: Closed

-LCBO: Quinn Drive location open (11 a.m. to 6 p.m.)

-Beer Stores: Select stores open (11 a.m. to 6 p.m.)

-Stores: Most open limited hours (i.e. Lambton Mall 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.)

-Government offices: (Municipal, Provincial, Federal) Closed

-Garbage Collection: Normal (Sarnia)

-Blackburn Media Sarnia offices: Closed

Nine young volunteers aged 11 to 17 spent three days exploring and protecting the Lake Huron coastline during the Coastal Conservation Youth Corps' inaugural program in Grand Bend from July 21 to 23.
