The Sarnia Sting are looking for a new assistant coach.
The OHL club announced Thursday that David Matsos has resigned to attend to non-hockey-related personal matters.
Matsos, a 51-year-old Burlington native was drafted into the OHL by the Soo Greyhounds in 1989, where he played in over 220 games.
He has also served on the coaching staff with the Windsor Spitfires, Sudbury Wolves, and Hamilton Bulldogs, and has experience as a head coach in the GOJHL with the London Nationals and St. Thomas Stars.
Matsos was initially hired in January 2025 to take over for Michael Haley who was let go by the club on December 10, 2024.
The Sting said Matsos' replacement will be named in the near future.
In early July, the Sting also announced significant changes to the operations staff.
