Winners chosen for 2025 Teen Photo Contest

Four teens have been selected as the winners for this year's teen photo contest, Stories in Focus.

Teens were invited to tell powerful and imaginative stories through their photography.

Diya Duggal was named the overall winner, and there were also winners in three other categories.

Ellyott Halgrove won for comedy, Nancy Williams won for fantasy, and Livvy Clark was named the winner in drama.

"This contest gives teens a chance to express themselves through a creative and accessible art form," said Lambton County Library Public Services Coordinator Vanitia Campbell. "Every year we are amazed at the incredible talent displayed by local teens."

A total of 25 photographs were selected to be displayed at the Judith and Norman Alix Art Gallery from August 1 to October 4.

The submissions will be shown alongside Blackwater Ophelia by Canadian Artist Adad Hannah.

"This exhibition is about encouraging young artists to find their voice and see the power of their perspective," said Blazek. "Pairing their work with a piece from our permanent collection helps show how storytelling through photography connects artists across generations."

The art gallery is open Wednesdays to Sundays from 11 a.m. until 4 p.m. with extended hours on Thursdays until 8:30 p.m.
