Charges laid in Hwy. 21 crash

Charges have been laid in a serious crash in Lambton Shores that closed a section of Highway 21 for several hours on Thursday.

OPP previously said the collision happened at 6:30 a.m. between Army Camp Road and Northville Road.

In a video posted to social media, Sgt. Ed Sanchuk said it appeared a vehicle crashed head-on into another vehicle while passing a transport truck during foggy conditions.

It was initially reported that two people were taken to hospital. However, on Friday, OPP said a 46-year-old man from Plympton-Wyoming was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A 20-year-old from Kettle and Stony Point First Nation was charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle and dangerous operation causing bodily harm.

Anyone who witnessed the crash or has dash cam footage of the incident is asked to contact OPP at 1-888-3101122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
