Police issue tickets for disobeying road closure amid crash investigation

Sarnia police have issued tickets to numerous motorists who were spotted driving past road closure signs on Lakeshore Road Wednesday afternoon.

Police said that carries a fine of $110 under the Highway Traffic Act.

This comes as officers continue to probe a crash in the area of Lakeshore Road and Blackwell Side Road.

Police said at around 11:45 p.m. on July 1 a 17-year-old male pedestrian was struck at the intersection by a vehicle.

The pedestrian was transported by EMS to Bluewater Health with serious injuries and remains there under hospital care.

According to a post on X, Sarnia police reopened the intersection just after 4:30 p.m. Wednesday.
