Lambton College marks its largest graduating class this year.
Convocation ceremonies are being held over two days this week as over 3,100 students are graduating.
Ceremonies began Tuesday at Progressive Auto Sales Arena with students from the Nursing, Paramedic, Applied Science and Engineering programs and continue Wednesday with students from the Fire Sciences, Health and Community Services, IT, Liberal Studies & Flexible Education and Online Education programs at 10 a.m.
At 3 p.m., the final ceremony will honour students from the Business & Sustainability Leadership program.
Lambton College said over 2,300 students are expected to cross the stage for the 58th annual convocation.
Three awards will also be announced during this year's ceremonies.
The Governor General's Academic Medal Award will be presented to Alissa Wierenga from Esthetician; Medical Esthetics and Advanced Skincare Therapies. It honours the student who graduate with the highest standing in their institution.
The Alumni Leadership Award will be given to Amandeep Singh Kalsi in the Financial Planning and Wealth Management program. This recognizes students who exhibit leadership abilities, commitment, are involved in extracurricular activities, and contributes to the college and the community.
Mykyta Ivanchuck in the Business program will be presented with the Board of Governors Award for demonstrating academic achievement and being involved in extra-curricular and leadership activities and contributing to the college and the community.
