One person was sent to hospital as a precaution after a fire in Point Edward Monday afternoon.
Point Edward Fire and Rescue said that it happened at around 5 p.m. on Simpson Street near Christina Street North.
When crews arrived, they found heavy smoke coming from the main floor of the house. Firefighters entered and put out a fire in the kitchen.
A search of the house found no one inside, but one person was sent to Bluewater Health as a precaution. Other occupants were treated on the spot for smoke inhalation.
In an update on Tuesday, the fire department said the fire was confined to the kitchen area.
Damage has been estimated at $100,000.
The cause was still being investigated.
