Four benches along Sarnia's Midtown Trail were destroyed and vandalized.
In a social media post, the NuSarnia Foundation said it happened on Wednesday.
Photos show the benches in pieces and scattered across the ground and in the water.
"These benches were made with care by local artists, volunteers and neighbours- each one a reflection of our community's creatitivity and love for this space," the post said.
In September, 19 benches were installed for The Bench Project to highlight the collaboration and creativity in the community.

"Let's come together to protect and restore what we've built. We won't let this stop the momentum we've created," NuSarnia Foundation said.
