Lambton Public Health (LPH) has ended its week-long Do Not Use Water Advisory for private drinking water users who draw their supply from the St. Clair River.
The advisory was issued on Thursday, March 27 after 500 to 700 litres of crude oil spilled into the river from Suncor's cooling water system.
LPH said it has received confirmation from the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP) that water sample results show there are no longer negative impacts.
Residents who were impacted by the advisory are being encouraged to take the following steps:
• Flush your cold water tap for at least one minute before using
• Run drinking water fountains for one minute
• Flush all garden hoses by running water for one minute.
• Drain and refill hot water tanks
• Replace water filters used to filter untreated water
