UPDATE: Snow squalls in parts of Lambton County

Messy winter weather is expected in parts of Lambton County.

Environment Canada upgraded its snow squall watch to a warning for north and east Lambton at around 3:25 p.m. Tuesday.

The national weather agency says intermittent flurries can be expected throughout the day Tuesday.

However, stronger snow squalls off Lake Huron are expected Tuesday night into Wednesday with local snowfall accumulations of 15 to 25 centimetres.

Higher amounts are possible if snow squalls become stationary over one area.

"Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common," read the statement from Environment Canada.

Environment Canada said reduced visibility at times is likely in heavy and blowing snow.

We're advised to consider postponing non-essential travel until conditions improve.
