The variety of cultures within Lambton County is being highlighted this New Year's Eve.
The county is hosting its second annual Festival of Cultures at Centennial Park.
There will be cultural performances, cookie decorating, a live DJ, international food and crafts and a fireworks display.
Organizer Tarndeep Singh said it's a celebration.
"Festival of Cultures is a day, family-friendly, free, all are welcome, it's an open event anyone can come. It's a fun event where everyone can come and enjoy the new beginnings," he said.
The idea for Festival of Cultures came after a survey was held last year of the community wanting a New Years Eve event.
Singh said for the first event last year it was a good crowd.
"It was foggy and it was raining but still over 300 people attended and we decided to make it an annual event," he said.
There will be between 15 to 20 vendors.
Singh said events like Festival of Cultures can highlight the variety of people from different countries in our community.
"Different cultures can showcase their traditional dances and their traditional attire. We want to create events like this where people can learn from each other," he said.
It's from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday, December 31 at the Suncor Agora, with fireworks starting at 6 p.m.
