Snow squalls possible in parts of Lambton County

Environment Canada said snow squalls will return to parts of Lambton County before the end of the week.

A snow squall watch was elevated to a warning for north and east Lambton at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

The national weather agency said snow squalls are possible as a cold front moves through Wednesday night.

In the wake of the cold front, several bands of snow squalls from Lake Huron will affect the region Thursday dumping between 25 to 50 centimetres of snow.

Locally higher snowfall amounts near 60 centimetres or more are possible, especially if a single strong snow squall locks in for a few hours or more.

Motorists are advised that visibility may be very poor to near zero at times in heavy snow and blowing snow.

Area highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.
