Nominations open for Kettle & Stony Point election

A nomination meeting will be held at Kettle and Stony Point First Nation on Thursday, September 26, just over a month before the scheduled election.

Candidates will be nominated for band council at Hillside School's gymnasium from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.

There is one chief position and nine councillor positions available for the next term, read a public notice.

Eligible voters also had the option of submitting a mail-in nomination form through the electoral office.

Kimberly Bressette is the current chief of Kettle and Stony Point First Nation. She was first elected in 2022, and replaced former chief Jason Henry.

The election will be held on November 8 at Hillside School.
