Early Canada Day celebrations planned in Point Edward

The Village of Point Edward is celebrating the country's 157th birthday, over one week early.

A Canada Day event is planned at Waterfront Park, under the Blue Water Bridges, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 20.

A variety of activities are planned, including; giant inflatables, games, face painting, and balloon creations.

There will also be live music and free pizza and cupcakes.

In addition to the activities, the contributions from the Ontario Lottery and Gaming's Starlight Casino Point Edward will be recognized.

Nine young volunteers aged 11 to 17 spent three days exploring and protecting the Lake Huron coastline during the Coastal Conservation Youth Corps' inaugural program in Grand Bend from July 21 to 23.
