Former floating Trump casino docked at Sarnia Harbour

Once owned and operated by Trump Hotels and Casino Resorts, the casino boat Majestic Star II is in Sarnia.

The vessel was towed from Sturgeon Bay in Wisconsin to the Sarnia Harbour on Sunday, where it will remain docked for about six months according to BoatNerd.com.

City of Sarnia Communications Manager Steve Henschel said the vessel had a scheduled berthage at the harbour. Henschel said the most common reasons ships dock at the harbour are overwintering and repair work.

The Majestic Star II, originally named Trump Princess, was a floating casino from 1996 to 2021 in Gary, Indiana and can carry about 2,900 people.

It along with its larger sister ship, The Majestic which remains in Sturgeon Bay for now, were built in the 1990s. The Majestic is also expected to arrive in Sarnia sometime in the near future.

The Trump Organization sold the casino and hotel to Majestic Star Holdings at the end of 2005.
