Theft of red dresses marks one year

Sarnia police are again appealing for tips regarding the theft of several red dresses, one year after they were removed from a display outside of city hall.

The dresses were hung outside to honour the memories of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls across Canada.

Surveillance video showed a male suspect taking down the dresses at approximately 5:15 a.m. on February 14, 2023.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Sarnia Police Service or Crime Stoppers at 519-332-TIPS (8477) or online.

The Sarnia-Lambton Native Friendship Centre will be holding its annual Women’s Memorial March on Wednesday, February 14 at 10 a.m.
