A boil water advisory for the Chippewas of Kettle and Stony Point has now been in effect for a week.
The alert for the First Nation was issued on Friday, January 26 due to a malfunction at the water treatment plant that services the community.
The issue has been resolved, however in a post to social media the First Nation said it is not able to lift the cautionary boil water alert at this time.
Residents are still being told to boil water for a full five minutes before using it for drinking, cooking, bathing and personal grooming.
There are about 1,000 community members who live on the First Nation.
