An off-duty officer on their way to work spotted an alleged impaired early Tuesday morning.
Lambton OPP said shortly before 6 a.m., the off-duty officer observed a vehicle being driven erratically on Oil Heritage Road.
The officer contacted the Communications Centre in London and arranged for other officers to stop the vehicle.
Police said while speaking with the driver, it was apparent they had consumed alcohol and were placed under arrest.
Police said the 42-year-old from Brussels provided two breath samples above the legal limit. A small quantity of suspected cocaine was also seized during a search.
The driver is charged with impaired driving and possession of a schedule one substance.
