A Camlachie man was the latest early bird prize winner in the Bluewater Health Foundation (BWHF) Dream Home Lottery.
Larry Lawlor can either drive away with a brand new hybrid BMW, or $30,000 in cash.
Lawlor, who currently drives an electric vehicle, said he's contemplating his decision this week after finding out his name was drawn on January 4.
“I got a text from a friend saying ‘congrats on your new wheels!’ said Lawlor. “I said, I didn’t get a new car! The story has been going around since and I’ve been getting emails from friends all over the place.”
Meanwhile, tickets for the grand prize dream home valued at over $1.2 million are more than 70 per cent sold out.
Bluewater Health Foundation Executive Director Kathy Alexander said funds raised through the annual initiative are invested into local patient care.
"So half of the proceeds will support the redevelopment of the cancer care clinic here in Sarnia and then the other half of the proceeds are shared with our sister foundation in Petrolia," said Alexander. "This truly is a win-win situation. There's so many great prizes, so many great community and local businesses that support the lottery, but ultimately Bluewater Health is the biggest winner. This is our most important fundraising initiative in support of both sites at Bluewater Health."
Tickets for the home located in the Blue Coast Heights neighbourhood in Plympton-Wyoming, are available until January 31. You can purchase tickets online through the foundation's website, or in person at the foundation office at Bluewater Health in Sarnia.
The grand prize draw is scheduled for February 15 at noon.
