There are only a few days remaining for donations to be made toward the local Red Kettle campaign.
Sarnia Salvation Army Capt. Brad Webster said as of Monday, $118,425 was raised which amounts to 72 per cent of their fundraising goal of $165,000.
With $46,575 still needed, Webster said he's confident they'll continue to see community support this week.
"We're still shorter than we were last year at this point but we are confident in our community and our community coming behind us and supporting us so we're optimistic," said Webster.
The Red Kettle campaign runs until December 23. Volunteers will be out at various locations across the city from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.
Webster said kettles will be at Metro Northgate, Walmart, Superstore, Canadian Tire, and Lambton Mall. On Friday and Saturday, kettles will also be at the LCBO locations on Quinn Drive and Lakeshore Road.
"This money goes toward supporting those most in need in our community, through our foodbank, through our various programs that we run throughout the year so it's vital to our operation," he said. "We just want to say thank you to the community and Merry Christmas to everyone."
Webster said the final tally from this year's campaign should be in by Christmas Eve.
