Snow squalls expected in parts of Lambton County

Snowy weather is on the way for parts of Lambton County.

Environment Canada issued a snow squall warning for north and east Lambton Monday morning and a winter weather travel advisory is posted for the rest of the Sarnia-Lambton.

The national weather agency said rain showers are expected to change to snow Monday afternoon as colder air moves into southern Ontario.

Increasing northwest winds gusting from 60 to 80 kilometres an hour will result in areas of blowing snow reducing visibility, with the strongest winds most likely close to the Lake Huron and Georgian Bay shores.

Some areas could receive snowfall accumulations of five to 10 centimetres.

Hazardous travel conditions are possible due to low visibility in blowing snow along with icy and slippery roads.  Motorists are reminded to prepare for changing and deteriorating travel conditions.

Environment Canada said conditions are expected to improve overnight or early Tuesday morning.
