The Sarnia Sting have added a steady stay-at-home defenceman in a trade with the Kingston Frontenacs.
The club has acquired Duncan Schneider in exchange for a 7th round pick in the 2027 Ontario Hockey League draft.
Schneider, 18, has one goal and four assists in 82 career regular season games with the Frontenacs.
The Belleville native is known for his strong defensive style of play. He was originally selected by Kingston in the 5th round of the 2021 draft.
In a news release, Sting General Manager Dylan Seca said Schneider is "a reliable defencemen and great line mate. Solid experience in this league. We’re excited to welcome Duncan and the Schneider family to Sarnia."
Schneider is expected to make his Sting debut this week.
It's another busy week for the team. They head to Brantford on Wednesday, and return home for contests on Friday against Owen Sound and Sunday afternoon versus Flint.
