Sarnia's community hospital has announced the expansion of a program aimed at showcasing its staff and the exceptional care they provide to the community.
The "We Are Bluewater Health" campaign was first launched in 2017, and provided a glimpse into the lives of the real people working and volunteering at the hospital.
President and CEO Paula Reaume-Zimmer said the program has been revamped to include a variety of different perspectives.
"We've really looked at how we've expanded and our real experiences amongst all of our partners with our patients, employees, volunteers and community partners," said Reaume-Zimmer. "This campaign sheds a light on all of those important elements of really delivering the great care at Bluewater Health that we're proud of."
Reaume-Zimmer said they've captured a variety of different stories to highlight various partnerships and unique ways of delivering care.
"We have a partnership with Lambton Elderly Outreach where we have a fantastic story about an individual returning overseas to live with his family," she said. "We also spoke with an Indigenous mother about her birthing experience, and an individual recovering at Ryan's House. It really helps emphasize the pride that we take in so many of our different programs and services. The patient experience is really an important priority."
Reaume-Zimmer said residents should be confident they'll receive quality care at Bluewater Health.
"We're always wanting to build confidence in our community and these stories help to inspire people to help emphasize the commitment we have to the community," she said. "It also allows our staff to really take pride in the work they're delivering. The stories highlight their contributions. It's really a pride point for all of us, for leaders, for staff and for the community."
Reaume-Zimmer said with over a dozen diverse stories, and 30 unique participants, this is the hospital’s most ambitious communications campaign to date.
Stories will be unveiled publicly, and featured monthly, over the upcoming year.
This year’s multi-media campaign was captured by local company Paradox Images, Matt and Liselle Dochstader.
It's also featured in print poster format at both locations in Sarnia and Petrolia, as well as in video and online format.
