Lambton OPP told Sarnia News Today two vehicles were involved in the crash on Thompson Line just after 2 p.m.
Police said there were no injuries reported, but there was damage to both vehicles and hydro poles.
Thompson Line was closed at Gordon Road while hydro crews completed repairs.
Alan Smith will begin his new role with the municipality on July 20.
