Truck slams into hydro tower off Howard Watson Nature Trail

Sarnia police are investigating after a pick up truck went through the bush off of the Howard Watson Trail and struck a hydro tower.

Officers were called to the area of London Road and Afton Drive at around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

On Twitter, police said the driver lost control and was taken to hospital.

According to the Staff Sgt. on duty, it appeared the driver had a medical episode.

The extent of the driver's injuries are unknown, and it's unclear whether charges will be laid.

Hydro crews were on scene Tuesday afternoon to make repairs.

The Sarnia Police Service's Collision Reconstructionist is investigating.
