Theatre Sarnia is already hard at work preparing for next season, which kicks off in October at the Imperial Theatre.
Single tickets for the 2023-24 shows go on sale June 1.
The season consists of Little Shop of Horrors, White Christmas, Norm Foster’s Halfway There, the Wolves, and Disney’s The Little Mermaid.
Executive Director Brian Austin Jr. said they're looking to build on the success of this past season which just wrapped up.
"It was a really great season this year," said Austin Jr. "We saw about 75,000 patrons come through the door. It's just so humbling to have the support of the community and all of the performers just raved about the audiences."
Austin Jr. said you'll want to buy tickets quickly before they sell out.
"We're expecting really strong early ticket sales," he said. "Tarzan was incredible. It was 98 per cent sold out before it opened and we had a lot of disappointed people who couldn't get tickets. So, I'm hoping we see the trend of people buying tickets sooner so that they can avoid that disappointment."
Austin Jr. said the cast and crew for every production are all local, and residents might recognize someone they know performing.
He said they've already started pre-production on Little Shop of Horrors.
"We're going to be building all the plant puppets in-house," he said. "So, a tech crew will be working on that over the summer and we'll go into rehearsal over the summer. We'll audition for Little Shop of Horrors and White Christmas in the next few weeks so that we can get measurements. Wardrobe will then start all of the costuming and the sets will start to be designed and built. It's always busy even when there isn't a show on the stage."
The upcoming season runs all the way until May 2024.
