A Sarnia murder trial involving two suspects will get underway more than three years after the death of a 62-year-old man.
Joshua Tomlinson and Noah Brown are each charged with second degree murder, robbery, and break and enter in the death of Allen Schairer in January of 2021.
The trial, initially set to begin next month, has been rescheduled for April 2, 2024 with the pretrial motions set for February 5.
Tomlinson is also charged with second degree murder in the death of 66-year-old Sue Elin Lumsden. That trail is scheduled for October 2, 2023 but there is an adjournment application that his defence counsel said they are filing, according to the courts.
Sarnia police launched four homicide investigations in January of 2021 in the deaths of Schairer, Lumsden, Luis Enrique Hernandez, and Natalie Bartlett.
