Rebound to host adult prom

Rebound is giving you the chance to relive prom this June.

Ticket sales are underway for the organization's "Forever Young Prom 2023" to be held June 10 at Lambton College.

Fund Development and Marketing Coordinator Maddisyn Fisher said it's a 19 plus event.

"The whole goal of the fundraiser is to basically have a night to relive your youth," said Fisher. "Dust off your shoes, get your dancing on, and just have a great night while supporting a great cause, which is Rebound's essential programming."

Fisher said it's up to you what you wear.

"We are leaving it totally open to the public and the community. I know a few of my mom's friends want to dress up in 80s clothes. So, if you want to go back in time and relive what it actually was like for you as a youth... go for it."

Fisher said it could be a chance for a do-over.

"I know for me, I unfortunately did not like my makeup during prom. So, I want to go with a more modern look, and kind of be like if I were to go to prom at this age... this is how I would look now."

The video dance party starts at 7 p.m.

"We're going to have modern music, throwbacks and the greatest hits. So, it's going to be a very open event. If you went to prom in the 80s, you're going to have a great time looking at 80s music videos. If you went to prom, literally ten years ago, you're going to have a great time seeing all of the music videos from that time as well."

Fisher said they hope to sell 350 tickets.

They're $50 each and available through Rebound's website.

Rebound operates 18 programs for youth between the ages of eight and 24.

It's located on Lorne Crescent in Sarnia and has rural offices in Petrolia and Forest.
