A 40-year-old man from Sarnia is accused of driving while impaired after a vehicle crashed into a tree at Canatara Park, across from the apartments on Sandy Lane.
Sarnia police reported the collision on social media encouraging motorists to "#drivesober" after an "expensive outing" over the weekend.
Police told Sarnia News Today that the collision was reported at 1:54 a.m. on Sunday.
The driver allegedly provided a breath sample that showed a reading more than twice the legal limit.
As a result, he was charged with impaired operation of a conveyance and operation of a conveyance with 80 milligrams of alcohol or more in 100 millilitres of blood.
