Damage is estimated at $350,000 following a house fire outside Courtright late Thursday afternoon.
St. Clair Township Fire responded to a single-family dwelling on Oil Springs Line, west of Highway 40, at around 5:50 p.m.
Fire Chief Richard Boyes said the lone occupant was uninjured. He also said firefighters found a family pet.
"We did find the owner's cat, [Hero]. The owner was quite happy that we got his cat out of the house. It got some oxygen there and appears to be doing well."
The cause of the blaze was under investigation.
Boyes said the initial responding station was from Courtright.
"They did a great job of knocking down the fire. There was a lot of fire when they arrived, so they did a great job of bringing it under control in a very quick time."
Firefighters from Brigden, Wilkesport and Becher were also on scene.
