The Sarnia Community Foundation is looking for some unsung heroes.
The local group is now accepting nominations for the Women of Excellence.
Executive Director Mike Barron said the event recognizes those women who go above and beyond for the betterment of the community.
"Coming out of the pandemic we've had lots of people that have had to do a lot of different things, or maybe uniquely done so someone that isn't really maybe in the spotlight all the time," said Barron. "It's the person that really goes the extra mile each time and really advancing either their organization or the group they're working in."
Barron said the special events committee will go through all the nominations to select four nominees to be recognized for 2022.
"The call for nominations ends on April 14, and we will be letting the community know by the end of April who our winners are."

An in-person celebration is planned for June.
