Sarnia women's day event raises over $11K

Over $11,000 was raised during this year's International Women’s Day charity event in Sarnia.

Money raised from the event, hosted by the Chamber of Commerce, will be split between The Women’s Interval Home and Circles Lambton.

The evening featured a variety of exceptional speakers, including Shoebox Project Chair Annabelle Rayson, Bridges Global Founder and CEO Elizabeth Solitis, Famous 5 CEO Frances Wright, and Future Black Female Founder Tapo Chimbganda.

Title sponsors for the event included Enbridge, Bluewater Power, Imperial Sarnia, Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership, Sarnia-Lambton Workforce Development Board, Exit Realty Twin Bridge and Blackburn Media.

Nine young volunteers aged 11 to 17 spent three days exploring and protecting the Lake Huron coastline during the Coastal Conservation Youth Corps' inaugural program in Grand Bend from July 21 to 23.
