Sarnia Sings returns with tickets selling quickly

Local performers will hit the stage at Imperial Theatre this spring as Sarnia Sings returns following a hiatus caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Sarnia Sings Volume 4 will be held on Thursday, April 20.

Organizer Adam Dumond said about 17 performers have been selected this year from over 50 applicants.

"We really try to cater to everybody so [there will be] different types of genres, different types of age groups, as well as men, women, people who don't normally sing, to people who are pretty active in the Theatre Sarnia area," he said.

Dumond said ticket sales have been impressive so far. As of March 10, about half of the available tickets were sold.

"We usually sell out every year, some shows sooner than [others.] Participants are obviously the biggest driver, their friends and family want to see them perform," Dumond said.

"You're getting an experience that you really don't get anywhere else. Your friend, family member, coworker could be on stage with a live band, with all the lights and theatre production. It's just an incredible thing!"

Money raised through Sarnia Sings will stay local and support mental health initiatives through the Sarnia Community Foundation, Canadian Mental Health Association, and St. Clair Child and Youth.
