The Leaky Tank was charged on May 4, 2021 for allegedly remaining open and allowing in-house dining, in violation of the Reopening Ontario Act.
The owner of the Degurse Drive restaurant was also fined $880.
On February 28, 2023 the charge was withdrawn by the prosecution.
The province lifted all COVID-19 restrictions on April 27, 2022.
Alan Smith will begin his new role with the municipality on July 20.
