Traffic complaints lead OPP to impaired driver in Sarnia

A St. Clair Township man is charged with impaired driving after allegedly blowing over twice the legal limit Wednesday morning.

Lambton OPP received several reports of a suspected impaired driver in the area of Kimball Road and Plank Road in Sarnia at around 8:30 a.m.

Shortly after, police pulled over the suspect vehicle on Plank Road near Lasalle Line, arrested the driver and took him to an OPP detachment for testing.

The 35-year-old suspect has been released from police custody and is set to appear in court next month.

Meanwhile, a 42-year-old man, also from St. Clair Township, is accused of driving while impaired after being stopped by an officer on general patrol.

OPP stopped a vehicle on Lyndock Street for a traffic violation, just before 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The driver reportedly failed a roadside screening test and was arrested. The 42-year-old was charged with Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus).

He was released from police custody with a future court date set for March 15.

A  Watford woman is also facing an impaired driving charge after Middlesex OPP received a call about a possible impaired driver in North Middlesex at around 6:15 p.m. Wednesday.

Police located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop.

The 40-year-old driver was later charged with failure or refusal to comply with demand and operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs.

She has a court date set for April 4.
