Three local organizations are working together to administer federal funding through the Community Services Recovery Fund.
A $400 million investment is meant to support non-profit organizations, registered charities, and Indigenous governing bodies facing immediate and long-term impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Sarnia Community Foundation, United Way, and Canadian Red Cross will accept applications until 5 p.m. on February 21.
"Then, there'll be a vetting process with a subject group committee," said Sarnia Community Foundation Executive Director Mike Barron.
"The funded projects will start May 1 and then they would need to be completed by June 30, 2024. So they technically get 13 months from start to finish."
Baron said projects the Sarnia Community Foundation is specifically looking to support are ones that help modernize organizations through communication plans and enhancements to existing software systems.
