Lambton OPP have charged a 22-year-old from Wallaceburg with impaired driving following a traffic stop in St. Clair Township Sunday night.
Police observed a vehicle exceeding the speed limit on Highway 40 at around 8:40 p.m.
Officers stopped the vehicle near Lambton Line, and allege that when speaking with the driver it became apparent that alcohol had been consumed and signs of impairment were being displayed.
The driver was arrested and taken to a detachment where two breath samples were provided above the legal limit.
The accused was charged with operation while impaired and operation while impaired with a blood alcohol concentration over 80.
They were released and have been scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice at a later date.
