A 61-year-old Thedford man has been charged with making child pornography following an online child sexual exploitation investigation.
Members of the OPP Child Sexual Exploitation Unit arrested Don Charles "Chuck" Hasson on December 20, 2022.
The accused was released from custody and has a court appearance scheduled for January 30.
Police are asking anyone with information regarding the investigation to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS) or ontariocrimestoppers.ca.
"Children are our most valuable and precious members of society," read an OPP media release. "Many victims of child sexual abuse are so young that they cannot tell their story. Every time an image or video depicting that abuse is shared, that child is re-victimized."
The OPP is also encouraging parents to take a proactive approach by speaking with their children about internet safety.
Charges against the accused have not been proven in court.
