Local companies are being given the chance to bolster their online presence through the Digital Main Street Program.
Grants of $2,500 are being offered to businesses for things like website development or improvements, new software, digital training, and hardware.
Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership (SLEP) Marketing Manager Travis Kelly said previous grant recipients have been very thankful for the money.
"It's such a great opportunity," said Kelly. "On top of the grant, there's also training that goes along with it. We have our Digital Service Advisors Kaila and Tahreem here who help business owners go through the process and help them with some other training on top of that."
Kelly said eligible businesses must be brick and mortar establishments that employ up to 50 people, are registered in Ontario, pay commercial property tax or rent, and are open to the public for on site purchases.
Franchises, wholesalers, manufacturers, non-profit, home and online businesses, and previous grant recipients are not eligible to participate.
Kelly said the money is administered by the Ontario BIA Association.
"I would encourage businesses to reach out and take advantage of this," he said. "It's a free program, and they can really boost their online presence."
